Job Title: Café Supervisor

Job Type: Permanent (Full-time)
Work Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The Café Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day food and beverage service operations, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth workflow, and compliance with quality and hygiene standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the food and beverage service in the café or restaurant.

• Train and oversee waiters and waitresses to ensure timely, high-quality, and personalized service.

• Inspect table setups and layouts to ensure compliance with company standards.

• Ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of all equipment and furniture.

• Monitor staff performance and adherence to service standards, handling disciplinary issues when necessary.

• Prepare and serve flambe or specialty dishes with professionalism and authenticity, if offered by the café.

• Manage and control inventory of cutlery, glassware, and service equipment.

• Advise guests on menu selections and special event offerings.

• Assign daily tasks fairly and efficiently among staff members.

• Identify and address operational issues such as wastage or theft, implementing corrective actions.

• Ensure staff maintain proper hygiene, grooming, and discipline standards.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification:

• Minimum Level 4 Certificate in Food and Beverage Service or equivalent.

Additional Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in both English and Amharic.

• Outstanding customer service and multi-tasking abilities.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a reputable hotel or restaurant.
