Job Description

The Field Sales Representative at East African National Distribution SC  is responsible for driving cement sales through direct customer engagement, market expansion, and relationship management across various sectors, including retail, real estate construction, and batching plants. This role involves field visits, prospecting new customers, promoting EAND's products, and ensuring customer satisfaction while achieving sales targets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue goals for the assigned region.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in key sectors, including retail, real estate construction, and batching plant projects.

  • Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up on leads and closure of sales.

  • Work closely with the Area Sales Manager to align sales efforts with EAND’s overall strategy.

2. Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail outlets, real estate developers, contractors, batching plant operators, and distributors.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

  • Conduct regular customer visits (virtual or in-person) to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure profitable sales.

3. Market Research and Development:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential markets and customers, understanding their needs, preferences, and purchasing behaviors.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions in the assigned territory.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to the Area Sales Manager for market development, product offerings, and pricing strategies.

  • Assist in executing marketing campaigns and promotional activities aimed at expanding the customer base.

4. Sales Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports detailing sales performance, customer feedback, and market insights.

  • Track sales performance against targets and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement.

  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.

5. Order Management and Coordination:

  • Process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of products.

  • Coordinate with logistics, finance, and production to ensure smooth order fulfillment.

  • Monitor order status, resolving any issues related to product availability, shipping, or documentation.

6. Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with sales, such as product availability or delivery issues.

  • Stay informed about changes in market regulations that may impact the business.

7. Customer Service and Support:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients in retail, real estate, and batching plant sectors.

  • Handle customer complaints and issues effectively, ensuring prompt resolution.

  • Offer post-sales support, including follow-ups, product training, and after-sales service.

8. Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Area Sales Manager and team members to share insights, best practices, and strategies.

  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs.

  • Contribute to a positive team environment, supporting colleagues and helping achieve team goals.

Job Requirements

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, or a related field 

  • A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in Sales Management will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Experience: At least     3 years of outdoor sales experience, preferably in FMCG, cement, or construction materials Real-estate sales .

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of cement distribution, construction sector, and retail sales.
