Job Description

The Warehouse Department, supporting logistics and operations, is responsible for the efficient receipt, safe storage, and accurate dispatch of goods, ensuring strict adherence to inventory control procedures and safety standards. 

The Storeman strengthens the logistics and operations team as a reliable and detail-oriented individual. The role primarily oversees day-to-day warehouse operations, including meticulous goods receipt, inventory control, and order preparation. The core mandate is to maintain accurate stock records, implement loss prevention measures (like FIFO/FEFO), and coordinate effectively with other departments to ensure timely material flow. Key Responsibilities: 

1. Warehouse Operations and Logistics 

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods in accordance with company procedures and safety standards. 

  • Coordinate order picking, packing, labeling, and dispatch of materials in line with sales orders, delivery schedules, and transport arrangements. 

  • Liaise with Procurement, Finance, Sales, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth order flow and timely delivery of materials. 

2. Inventory Control and Maintenance 

  • Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and quality against delivery documents, and record discrepancies for corrective action (Goods Receipt & Inspection). 

  • Maintain accurate stock levels by updating stock cards, bin cards, and electronic inventory systems in real time, and conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile variances. 

  • Prepare and issue materials against approved requisitions, ensuring correct product codes, quantities, and batch traceability. 

  • Monitor minimum stock levels and trigger timely replenishment requests to avoid stock-outs. 

  • Implement measures to minimize losses through damage, pilferage, or expiry by adhering to FIFO/FEFO principles. 

3. Safety, Organization, and Documentation 

  • Ensure proper storage arrangement based on product type, batch number, expiry date, and safety classification, maintaining optimal space utilization. 

  • Maintain accurate documentation for receipts, issues, returns, transfers, and adjustments, both electronically and in hard copy. 

  • Enforce compliance with occupational safety and hygiene regulations, and ensure proper housekeeping and fire safety within the warehouse. 

  • Support internal and external inventory audits, ensuring records and documentation are readily available and accurate.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements: 

Must-Have Technical / Professional Qualifications: 

• Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Warehouse Operations. 

• At least 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or storekeeping in a manufacturing, trading, or logistics environment. 

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience: 

• Strong understanding of stock control principles, warehouse systems, and inventory documentation (Inventory Management). 

• High level of accuracy in record-keeping, labeling, and documentation (Attention to Detail). 

• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP, or inventory software (Technical Proficiency). 

• Strong understanding of occupational safety procedures and material handling protocols (Safety Awareness).
