Job Description
The Sales & Marketing Department is responsible for driving the sale of the company’s products and providing technical support for their application within the feed and livestock industry.
The Technical Sales Advisor strengthens the team in Ethiopia by marketing and selling the entire range of products. This role requires a consultative selling approach to engage potential customers (feed mills, farms) , offer informed technical solutions , and build long-term relationships. The core mandate is to achieve or exceed sales targets, provide high-quality product training, and maintain accurate market intelligence and documentation.
1. Sales Strategy and Client Relations
Develop effective sales strategies and plans to achieve or exceed sales targets for food and feed additives, and premixes within designated territories.
Identify and engage potential customers, including feed mills, commercial farms, and other livestock producers, to understand their needs and provide product recommendations.
Employ a consultative approach to understand customer challenges and offer informed solutions.
Build long-term relationships with clients by offering ongoing technical support, addressing queries, and providing guidance on product use.
2. Product Expertise and Communication
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's feed additives and premixes, including their formulations, benefits, and applications.
Create and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations that highlight the scientific and practical advantages of the products to clients.
Conduct training sessions for customers and distribution partners to educate them on the proper use and benefits of animal feed additives and premixes.
3. Market Intelligence and Administration
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging scientific research to adapt sales strategies (Market Research).
Maintain accurate client records on Airtable® logging weekly customer interactions, sales activities, and making note of competitor supplies.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales activities, market trends, and competitive analysis for management.
Undertake weekly stock-taking in collaboration with accounting and operational staff.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must-Have Technical / Professional Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Human Nutrition, or its equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• At least 2 years working experience in a similar or equivalent role.
Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience:
• A deep understanding of food and feed additives and premixes, including their benefits and applications (Technical Expertise).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Proven sales experience with the ability to identify customer needs, tailor solutions, and close deals (Sales Acumen).
• Ability to analyse complex challenges faced by customers and recommend suitable solutions (Problem-Solving).
• Thorough knowledge of the company's feed additive products, their formulations, and how they compare to alternatives in the market (Product Knowledge).
