Job Description

The senior pharmacist oversees the day-to-day operations of a pharmacy, ensuring accurate dispensing of medications, providing advanced clinical pharmacy services to patients, supervising other pharmacy staff, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with all legal and regulatory standards, often collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy. He/she must be customer-focused and remain up to date with the latest advances in pharmaceutical science.

Salary: Negotiable

Starting Date: Immediately after contract agreement concluded

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive medication reviews, identifying potential drug interactions and adverse effects.

  • Provide medication counseling to patients on proper usage, dosage, and side effects.

  • Monitor medication adherence and implement interventions to improve compliance.

  • Conduct comprehensive medication reviews, identifying potential drug interactions and adverse effects.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens for patients with chronic conditions.

  • Monitor medication adherence and implement interventions to improve compliance.

  • Monitor pharmacy operations to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding drug handling and storage.

  • Conduct regular quality assurance audits and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Monitoring customers’ drug therapies, advising interventions, and informing customers of any potential side effects.

  • Conducting health and wellness screenings.

  • Keeping accurate customer records.

  • Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.

  • Completing operational requirements of the pharmacy, including verifying order entries, maintaining records of controlled substances, charges, and removing expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.

  • Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice.

  • Performing other administrative tasks when needed. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • BSC degree in pharmacy 

  • A minimum of five or more years of proven experience as a pharmacist.

  • Valid license to practice as a pharmacist is an advantage

  • Ability to manage drugs stocks at all pharmacies effectively to avoid dead stocks or expired drugs.

  • Demonstrable experience in commodity management and supply chain.

  • In depth knowledge of the MOH supply chain processes and procedure.

  • Experience in community pharmacy is an asset
