Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Professional Services to lead our technical teams dedicated to the ATM software and monitoring ecosystem of our NCR product portfolio. This is a strategic leadership role with full responsibility for the delivery, support, and evolution of software solutions for ATMs, ITMs, Bulk Depositors, POS systems, KIOSKs, and CVM. The ideal candidate will be an expert in the NCR software suite and will ensure the highest levels of system availability, security, and performance for our clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership & Department Management:

  • Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the Professional Services department, aligning with company goals and client needs.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, application specialists, and support analysts.

  • Oversee departmental budgets, resource allocation, and capacity planning.

  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for system uptime, incident resolution, and project delivery.

2. Software Solution Delivery & Management:

  • Serve as the ultimate technical authority on NCR software platforms, including ATM, APTRA VisionTellerX, and TMS 

  • Oversee the entire software lifecycle: planning, deployment, configuration, testing, updates, and patch management for all ATM, ITM, and POS fleets.

  • Ensure the successful integration of NCR software with core banking systems, switches, and third-party applications.

  • Drive the implementation and optimization of monitoring tools to provide proactive insights into system health and performance.

3. Technical Support & Incident Management:

  • Establish and manage a 24/7 escalation process for critical software and monitoring incidents.

  • Ensure rapid diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues related to ATM software, transaction processing, and device management.

  • Foster a culture of root cause analysis and continuous improvement to prevent problem recurrence.

4. Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for key clients (banks, financial institutions) on strategic software initiatives.

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted-advisor relationships with client IT teams and management.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams to scope new projects, prepare proposals, and present technical solutions to clients.

5. Security, Compliance & Best Practices:

  • Ensure all software and systems comply with international security standards (PCI PIN, PCI DSS) and local regulatory requirements set by the National Bank of Ethiopia.

  • Implement and enforce security policies for software updates, user access, and data protection.

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, threats, and technologies in the financial self-service and payments industry.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the ATM/POS/Financial Self-Service industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role.

  • Extensive, hands-on expertise with NCR software solutions.

    • APTRA Vision (including NDC/DDC, Configuration Manager)

    • Terminal Management System (TMS), preferably NCR Tower

    • Software deployment and remote management for ATM/ITM fleets.

  • Deep understanding of transaction processing, switching, and card payment systems (EMV, Contactless).

  • Proven experience in project management, service delivery, and client relationship management.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows-based operating systems, network protocols, and database management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
