Position:-  Senior IT officer

Duties & Responsibilities:

• System administration: Install, configure, monitor, and maintain computer systems, servers, and networks to ensure optimal performance and availability.

• Network management: Manage LAN, WAN, and VLAN systems, ensuring stable connectivity and addressing network problems promptly.

• Security: Implement and maintain security measures, such as virus protection, firewalls, and access control, to protect the organization's data and systems.

• Backup and disaster recovery: Develop, implement, and manage regular backup and restore procedures, as well as disaster recovery plans, to ensure business continuity.

• Hardware and asset management: Maintain a hardware asset register and manage the lifecycle of IT equipment. 

Project and strategic leadership

• Project leadership: Lead and manage technical projects from conception to deployment.

• Strategic planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's overall ICT strategy and policies.

• System integration: Integrate new systems with existing infrastructure and ensure seamless data flow.

• Continuous improvement: Evaluate new technologies and best practices to improve the efficiency, security, and scalability of systems.

• Vendor management: Manage relationships with vendors and external consultants. 

Support and training

• User support: Provide high-level technical support and troubleshoot complex issues for users.

• Training: Develop and deliver training to staff on new systems and security awareness.

• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, processes, and configurations. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent qualification background. 

• At least 4 years of relevant technical and business work experience. 

Experience: Proven experience in IT support, system administration, and network management.

• Technical knowledge: Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, operating systems (including Linux), and various software applications.

• Soft skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, time management, and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and collaborate with a team.
