SCORE is a faith-based organization operating in social development and humanitarian interventions in four woredas of Gamo zone, in two Woredas of South Omo zone in SNNPR and in five Woredas of Borana Zone in Oromia region. The current intervention sectors include Livelihood enhancement, Conservation agriculture, WASH, health, education and women School-centered integrated community-based approach focusing on difficult to reach and marginalized communities. Currently, we also engage in humanitarian relief interventions for people affected by natural disasters in the areas where we present.

Job Summary: - SCORE is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head of Finance to lead all financial and accounting operations. The role involves overseeing the finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax and audit requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to management. Under the operations Department, she/he is responsible for timely processing of all financial reports (liquidations, reimbursements, advances, cash forecasts) by working closely with Operations Manager and finance staff. The role requires strong management, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a commitment to the organization's mission and values.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Finance Head will have the following responsibilities:
Preparing and delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
Ensure the integrity of accounting information through verification, allocation, posting, and reconciliation of transactions.
Conducting regular account reconciliations (monthly or quarterly).
Analyses financial statements to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Manage intercompany transactions, review bank statements, and generate invoices.
Review and improve accounting systems and internal controls.
Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
Assisting in tax filings and audits, ensuring full compliance with tax regulations.
Develop and implement financial procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Prepare and summarize financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reports.
Present detailed financial reports and insights to senior management.
Stay updated on the latest financial and business trends.
Promote a positive organizational culture based on transparency, accountability, and teamwork, and foster a safe and inclusive work environment for his/her staff.
Discharge others duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor and the management.
Job Requirements
Education
MA degree in Accounting and Finance, or related relevant field.
Experience
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a senior accounting or finance supervisory or a similar/equivalent role in an NGO sector.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, Tally ERP, etc.).
Strong understanding of tax compliance and filing regulations.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven experience in multi-actor programs.
Experience of working with international NGOs and/or donor agencies is highly desirable,
Experience of working in cross-border programs with international NGOs
Important skills required
Advanced skills in MS Excel and other financial tools.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions

Proven integrity, professionalism, and leadership ability.
