Main Purpose/Job Summary
Coordinate, supervise, and ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services at Kule Health Centre (inpatient and outpatient), in line with MSF protocols. Promote integration of psychosocial care with medical services across all hospital departments, ensuring dignity, confidentiality, and continuity of care for all patients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Participate in the planning, organization and coordination of Mental Health activities, in close collaboration with the Mental Health activity manager and other medical team members, in order to ensure an efficient and effective implementation of the resources needed while maintaining high levels of quality in Mental Health MSF programs and activities.
Coordinates activities of counseling services with other relevant actors and liaises with the local counterparts (like MoH, WHO, ICRC and NGO) on mental health matters, including referral services.
Supervise the daily mental health activities and patient support according to MSF protocols and standards in order to provide the most appropriate support for clients with psycho social needs
Liaise with the other MSF team members of the project.
Supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
Oversee the administrative processes associated with psychosocial functioning.
When needed, give psychological support to patients according to MSF protocols to improve mental health conditions of patients and enhance their functionality.
Compile the data and statistic linked with MH activities and report to the MH activity manager • Offer clinical counselling supervision to mental health counsellors in collaboration with the Mental Health Activity Manager.
Ensure the patient’s related information is kept confidential
Specific Accountabilities
1. Supervisions and administration
Supervise and mentor counselor educators and community mental health workers, providing clinical and group supervision.
Provide ongoing technical support and supervision to counselors during their sessions, while developing and implementing improvement plans.
Deliver continuous capacity-building and skills development support to enhance team performance.
Guide mental health team in delivering trauma-informed care and psychosocial support for diverse patient groups, including IPD adults and pediatric patients, SGBV survivors, and those with severe mental illnesses.
Support HR processes including recruitment, induction, training, evaluation, and professional development.
2. Patient Care and Support (In collaboration with mental health supervisor)
3. Data Management & Reporting
Collect, compile, and analyze mental health service data; prepare and submit monthly progress reports.
Monitor service outcomes and recommend improvements based on findings.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient data, case files, and MSF property.
4. With the leadership of the MHAM, contribute in program development & evaluation Participate in program design, monitoring, and evaluation with the MHAM.
Coordinate and enhance peer support and psychosocial group activities across wards.
Support interdepartmental case discussions with medical team, psychiatric nurses, and mental health team.
5. Sexual Violence and Trauma Response
Lead and oversee mental health and psychosocial support services for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
Ensure confidential, survivor-centered, and trauma-informed care across all relevant departments and community settings.
Coordinate with medical, protection, and legal actors to ensure comprehensive survivor support and referral pathways.
Build staff capacity on handling disclosures, crisis intervention, and safe referrals for SGBV cases.
6. Child and Play Therapy Support
Facilitate and organize play therapy and child-focused psychosocial sessions
Development and supervise structured play and educational activities in pediatric wards, outpatient areas, and community programs
Train and guide counselors’ educators on child-friendly communication and therapeutic play techniques.
Collaborate with pediatric and inpatient teams to address the psychosocial needs of hospitalized and recovering children.

Remuneration and Benefits:
