Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning, directing, and supervising kitchen operations.

  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high quality standards.

  • Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow.

  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.

  • Collaborate on menu planning, recipe development, and cost control.

  • Handle kitchen operations during the Head Chef’s absence.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.

  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during food preparation or service.

  • Support in managing budgets, portion control, and minimizing waste. 

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef, preferably in a high-volume kitchen.

  • COC Level 4 Certificate in Food Preparation or equivalent culinary certification.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage kitchen staff.

  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Creativity in menu planning, presentation, and recipe development.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
