Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting

    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all company entities.

    • Ensure that financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

    • Perform variance analysis to explain discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

    • Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.

General Ledger Management

  • Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and recording of all transactions.

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.

Real Estate Accounting

  • Manage accounting for real estate transactions, including property acquisitions, sales, and lease transactions.

  • Ensure proper accounting treatment for real estate development projects, including capitalization of development costs, monitoring project budgets, and reporting on construction progress.

  • Analyze and allocate rental income, property operating expenses, and tenant-related transactions.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation and management of the company's annual budget.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure budgets are in line with operational goals and objectives.

  • Prepare financial forecasts, including cash flow projections, for the company's real estate operations.

Tax Compliance and Reporting                       

  • Support tax filings, including corporate income tax, property tax, and sales tax.

  • Work with tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

Monitor tax credits and incentives related to real estate projects.

6. Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Review and improve processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

7. Team Collaboration and Leadership

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including real estate development, property management, and executive leadership, to provide financial insight and support.

  • Assist with training and development of finance staff to ensure their growth within the organization.

Job Requirements

  • BA Degree in accounting

  • Minimum 4 Years Experience
