To support product design, drafting, process planning, and production optimization for general metalwork products such as brackets, frames, trays, trusses, fabricated components, and custom metal parts. The role ensures smooth translation of customer requirements into accurate drawings and efficient production processes.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Design & Process Engineer II:

• Create, maintain, and update accurate 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models (e.g., using SolidWorks or AutoCAD) for all metal components, assemblies, and fixtures.

• Translate customer specifications, rough sketches, and internal design concepts into formalized, detailed engineering drawings, ensuring proper application of Geometric Dimensioning.

• Review product designs and provide proactive feedback to design teams to optimize parts for fabrication processes (laser cutting, bending, welding), aiming to reduce complexity, material waste, and cost.

• Manage the version control and release of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to the shop floor and procurement teams.

• Develop, validate, and standardize detailed manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures for all metal fabrication processes.

• Design and specify specialized tooling, jigs, and fixtures necessary to improve consistency, precision, and efficiency in welding and assembly operations.

• Assist in generating or verifying programs for automated manufacturing equipment, including CNC laser cutters, press brakes, and robotic welding cells, to ensure efficient tool paths and accurate component production.

• Collaborate with the Quality team to define inspection criteria, conduct process capability studies, and ensure final products conform to specifications and industry standards.

• Ensure all designed processes and equipment setups adhere to local safety regulations and company quality management systems.

Job Requirements

Requirement:

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Design Engineering

• Minimum 2 years of experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing, including plasma cutting, bending, welding, machining, and general fabrication processes.

• Proven experience with process engineering teams in a factory environment.

• Analytical mindset with focus on quality and efficiency.

Technical Skills:

• Strong AutoCAD, Catia and SolidWorks or similar 3D software.

• Understanding of fabrication processes: shearing, bending, laser cutting, punching, welding, machining.

• Basic knowledge of material grades (MS, SS, galvanized steel, aluminum).

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
