Job title – Analyst, Shari’ah-Compliant Intelligent Finance (SCIF)

Place of Work: Kifiya HQ
Department: Shari’ah-Compliant Intelligent Finance Office (SCIFO)
Reports To: Director or Manager – Bank Relationship Management

Kifiya is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Analyst to support the design, rollout, and performance monitoring of our Shari’ah-Compliant Intelligent Finance portfolio.
The role supports financial institution partnerships, marketplace/e-commerce initiatives, embedded finance products, and Shari’ah governance by generating insights, coordinating delivery, and ensuring data-driven decision-making.

The Analyst will work across multidisciplinary teams to strengthen SCIF product performance, ensure compliance, and help scale Ethiopia’s first digital Shari’ah-compliant financial ecosystem.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Market & Product Research

  • Conduct structured research across digital finance, marketplace ecosystems, bank–fintech partnerships and Shari’ah-compliant products.

  • Analyze customer segments, market gaps, competitive trends and partnership opportunities.

  • Track global Islamic fintech developments and translate into actionable insights.

2. Partnership & Marketplace Support

  • Assess performance of partner banks on SCIF KPIs (portfolio, PAR/NPF, liquidity velocity, disbursement volumes, customer acquisition, etc.).

  • Support design, refinement and rollout of marketplace and embedded finance offerings.

  • Contribute to evaluations of partnership proposals, concept notes and business cases.

3. Data Analysis & Insight Generation

  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources.

  • Develop dashboards, product performance trackers and periodic analytical reports.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks, customer behavior patterns and improvement opportunities.

4. Project Coordination

  • Track timelines, deliverables and progress of partnership and marketplace projects.

  • Coordinate between SCIFO, bank partners, technology teams, marketplace partners and support units.

  • Assist in pilot testing, onboarding, process documentation and rollout support.

5. Shari’ah Governance Support

  • Prepare materials for Shari’ah reviews, approvals and joint committee sessions.

  • Ensure transparent documentation of methodologies, assumptions and data sources.

  • Support compliance monitoring, issue tracking and implementation of Shari’ah guidance.

6. Reporting & Knowledge Products

  • Prepare presentations, briefs, research summaries, decision memos and insights for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop visual materials including diagrams, process flows, market maps and dashboards.

  • Ensure decision-makers receive accurate, timely and actionable intelligence.

7. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with partner banks, marketplace actors, internal business teams and regulatory-facing units.

  • Provide clear and structured communication to ensure alignment and follow-through.

  • Support partnership development activities and proposal preparation.

8. Quality Assurance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure accuracy, clarity and consistency in all analysis and reports.

  • Identify process gaps and support continuous improvement of SCIF tools, workflows and templates.

  • Help flag risks and support mitigation efforts across partnership and marketplace operations.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Management, Law, Development Studies or related fields.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in consulting, digital finance, research, banking, insurance, marketplace/e-commerce or partnership/program management.

  • Exposure to Islamic/Shari’ah-compliant finance is desirable.

  • Understanding of AAOIFI/IFSB principles is an advantage
