The Gynecologist will provide specialized medical care in women’s reproductive health, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions affecting the female reproductive system. The role involves both outpatient and inpatient care, surgical procedures, and patient education.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services including ANC, labor management, delivery, PNC, and family planning.

  •  Manage obstetric emergencies such as eclampsia, PPH, obstructed labor, sepsis, and maternal complications.

  •  Perform essential and emergency surgical procedures such as C-sections.

  •  Provide clinical oversight and mentorship to midwives, MDs, and other clinical staff.

  •  Support infection prevention and control (IPC) compliance within maternity and surgical units.

  •  Ensure proper documentation, medical record-keeping, and reporting.

  • Participate in maternal death audits, clinical meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

  •  Strengthen referral pathways and coordination with IMC teams and the hospital.

  •  Ensure adherence to national clinical guidelines and IMC protocols.

  • Perform various tests and procedures to diagnose potential diseases or disorders of the female reproductive system

  • Provide treatments for issues such as fertility, hormonal disorders, sexually transmitted diseases, and menopause

Job Requirements

  • Medical degree with specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology (MD + Specialty).

  • Valid professional license recognized by MOH.

  • Minimum of 1 year clinical experience post-specialization

  •  Proven experience in managing obstetric emergencies and performing related surgeries

  •  Experience in humanitarian or low-resource settings is an added advantage.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Fluency in English (required); knowledge of local language(s) is an advantage.

  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and professional ethics.

  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced outbreak environments.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

  • Proactive, flexible, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities.
