About the role

A junior accountant is an entry-level position in the field of accounting. They are typically responsible for assisting senior accountants and financial professionals in various financial tasks and maintaining accurate financial records for an organization. 

As a junior-level position, it provides an opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience and develop a solid foundation in accounting. With time and experience, junior accountants can advance to more senior positions within the accounting department or pursue professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Preparing and recording financial transactions, such as invoices, payments, and receipts

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budget reports, and tax filings.

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

• In addition to their transactional and administrative tasks, junior accountants may also be involved in analyzing financial data, identifying discrepancies or irregularities, and recommending corrective actions to improve financial performance

• They may assist in conducting audits, reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial databases and spreadsheets.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong attention to detail, numerical proficiency, and good organizational skills

• basic understanding of accounting principles and practices

• familiarity with relevant accounting software and tools

• Communication and teamwork skills are also valuable for interacting with colleagues and assisting other departments when necessary.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance or in a related field of study

Experience:

• 0-2 years of working experience
