Job Description
A Stock Controller, or Inventory Controller, tracks stock levels and ensures that the supplies are sufficient to meet the demand of customers. Their primary duties include checking stock levels, ordering additional stock and updating stock records.

Oversee the management, purchase, and replenishment of goods in a sales establishment.
Ensure maintenance of stock levels.
Maintain accurate records of inventory and stock management systems according to set standards.
Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.
Compile records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.
Compile data from sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports, and enter information accordingly.
Keep back-order files in an established sequence and release back orders for issue as stock becomes available.
Compile stock control records and information, such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and the need for replenishment.
Prepare requisitions, orders, or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.
Compare nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify the accuracy of requisitions and orders.
Review files to determine unused items and recommend disposal of excess stock.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with relevant work experience.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Stock Controller.
