Purchasers buy goods, tools, and equipment for their own company or for resale to customers. Purchasers work full-time, doing market research, inventory monitoring, and various other duties within the office.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with company objectives.

• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best prices and quality.

• Performing cost analyses and setting benchmarks for spending and supplier performance.

• Ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services from vendors.

• Conducting market research to identify trends and potential new suppliers.

• Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Managing inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and minimize holding costs.

• Overseeing the procurement budget and promoting cost-saving strategies across the company.

• Evaluating supplier performance based on price, quality, and delivery speed.

• Preparing reports on procurement activity for senior management review.

Job Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business, economics, supply chain management, or a related field.

• Additional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are highly desirable.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.

• At least 2 years in a senior position handling complex procurement tasks.

• Strong knowledge of procurement and vendor management software.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
