Job Description

A Junior Marketing Research Officer supports marketing teams by conducting research, analyzing data, and contributing to marketing strategies. They gather information about target audiences, market trends, and competitors to help companies understand their market and improve their marketing efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This includes both primary research (surveys, interviews) and secondary research (analyzing existing data from reports, studies). 

  • Analyzing research data to identify trends, patterns, and insights about target audiences, market conditions, and competitive landscapes. 

  • Assisting in the creation of research plans, including defining research objectives, selecting appropriate methodologies, and determining data collection methods. 

  • Contributing to the development of marketing materials like presentations, brochures, and social media content, ensuring they are informed by research findings.

  • Providing research-based insights to inform the development and implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns. 

  • Tracking the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives, reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), and recommending improvements. 

  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, market developments, and best practices in marketing research. 

  • Working closely with other marketing team members and potentially with other departments to ensure marketing efforts are aligned and effective. 

  • Utilizing various channels (cold calling, email marketing, social media, networking) to promote products or services to potential and existing customers. 

  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business. 

  • Organizing and participating in marketing events to raise brand awareness and engage with the target audience. 

  • May be involved in administrative tasks such as organizing and distributing financial and statistical information. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  •  Required for analyzing data and identifying trends.

  • Essential for presenting research findings and collaborating with team members.

  • Understanding of various research methodologies, including survey design, data collection, and analysis.

  • A basic understanding of business principles and how marketing research contributes to business objectives.

  • Necessary for interpreting data and developing actionable recommendations.

  • Important for managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Needed for collaborating effectively with others.

  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools for data analysis and marketing.

  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
