Job Description
Accountants help businesses make financial decisions by collecting, tracking, correcting, and communicating the financial position of the company. They record transactions, compile and analyze data, perform audits, assist with budgets and financial forecasting, compute taxes, and report their findings to management and other entities, such as the IRS or investors.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Analyze financial data and generate reports for management review.
Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.
Develop and implement effective financial policies and procedures.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Job Requirements
At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant in a manufacturing industry.
Required Skills
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Peachtree and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Amharic.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
