Job Description
Job title: Engineering Manager
Position: Office of Techniques Department
Note: Expat Candidates only, are required to apply for the position.
Engineering Manager is responsible to ensure all production equipment and production utilities are in optimal condition to allow the brewery to produce the right quantity and quality of product. He/she also ensure maintenance/upkeep of brewery production assets- machinery & equipment, buildings, roads and premises at optimum costs so that they are available for production in the most efficient way. Finally, he/she is responsible to ensure provision of Utilities: Cooling, Steam, CO2, water, compressed Air and Electricity necessary for production at optimum cost and in accordance with relevant safety standards. Technique Manager is responsible to supervise maintenance, garage and utility manager in the respective duties.
Create detailed standards for maintenance tasks
Ensure uninterrupted Utility Services for all operations in the brewery
Facilitate maintenance analysis and ensure quality of the analysis
Manage spare parts to ensure optimum stock value, stock ratio, turnover ratio, and spares accuracy.
Reduce inventory of spare parts to optimal levels for more efficient allocation of financial resources
Prepare the lists of risk and overhaul spare parts based on equipment history, maintenance plans, and weak component analysis
Make (loss) deployments for area of responsibility to identify gaps for continuous improvement
Identify appropriate TPM tools and use them properly to close the gap in performance
Controls maintenance activities, prioritizes work and organizes/ mobilizes resources to overcome problems in day-to-day operations
Continuously collaborates with all stakeholders and seeks ways to improve maintenance service
Delivers timely information about ongoing work and ensures critical services are delivered
Optimizes maintenance processes and speeds them up by delegating authority and responsibility (and improving ownership), while maintaining overall accountability
Coach technicians and control maintenance schedule delivery
Assigns work according to technician development plan, assists and ensures quality of work delivered
Improves the skills of technicians. Evaluates yearly and builds comprehensive action plan for each person
Organize, execute, and validate all projects, modifications required on electrical installations
Support with troubleshooting and support to (senior) shift technicians, in case of problems
Organize safe and effective start up and shut down of the brewery in case of power disruptions
Assess, train and/or organize training for electricians, shift technicians, dayshift technicians, operators regarding electrical work.
Ensure all electrical repairable components are effectively repaired and controlled
Organize all required calibrations on the production instrumentation according to the maintenance plans
Provide input on the brewery’s calibration plans
Organize the automation workshop
Ensure all automation related repairable components are effectively repaired and controlled
Organize all required automation maintenance is performed effectively
Accountable for version management of software of production facilities
Perform breakdown analysis (BDA)
Prepare, engineer, execute and evaluate required software or automation modifications
Organize thirds party services with regards to automation support
Support the production team in translation of technical requirements from new product/recipe developments and implementation of these changes via modifications.
Develop and maintain a database of all brewery PA/PI equipment
Meet the operational output plan, work towards reduction of operational losses such as breakdowns, changeover times and minor stops, and production inputs
Should be willing to travel in shifts to support shift crews
Manage quantity, quality, and cost of engineering maintenance in the brewery.
Manage waste water treatment plant management to ensure that the effluent COD and TSS are within government approved limits.
Academic requirement: MSC/BSC/ in Engineering or related fields
Work experience: 6/8 years of relevant experience
