Maintenance workers, also known as repair workers, fix and maintain mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines. Tasks include plumbing work, painting, flooring repair and upkeep, electrical repairs and heating and air conditioning system maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous and efficient operation of machinery and equipment.

• Maintain the structural integrity and functionality of buildings and facilities.

• Prevent potential malfunctions and breakdowns through routine inspections and repairs.

• Enhance the safety and comfort of environments for occupants and users.

• Extend the lifespan of assets and reduce the need for costly replacements.

• Optimize the performance of assets to support business productivity and return on investment.

• Implement preventive measures to avoid disruptions in business operations.

• Provide feedback and suggestions for maintenance improvements to management.

 Job Requirements

• Diploma or general education degree (GED) is typically required.

• Additional qualifications may include a skilled work certificate or a degree from a technical college, especially if the maintenance involves machinery and equipment.

Experience

• 5-7 years of experince

• Proven maintenance experience in the relevant industry can be a significant advantage.

Required Skills

• Skills in various maintenance tasks, such as electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems, are often necessary.

• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is important.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform repairs on a variety of equipment and facilities are essential.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure are also valuable traits for a maintenance technician.
