Job Description

Senior Finance Officer is responsible for all financial aspects of a business or organization. They manage the budget, prepare financial reports, and ensure that all financial transactions are conducted legally and ethically.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Overseeing financial planning and strategy: A Senior Finance Officer is responsible for developing financial strategies that align with the company's goals.

  • Budgeting and forecasting: They play a key role in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance.

  • Financial reporting: Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and other regulatory requirements.

  • Audit and compliance: Conducting or overseeing audits to ensure adherence to financial policies and legal standards.

  • Risk management: Identifying financial risks and implementing measures to mitigate them.

  • Investment analysis: Assessing potential investments and their returns, as well as managing the company's investment portfolio.

  • Leadership and team management: Leading the finance team and providing guidance on various financial matters.

  • Strategic decision support: Providing financial insights and analysis to support the executive team's decision-making process.

  • Process improvement: Continuously seeking ways to improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency.

  • Stakeholder management: Managing relationships with investors, partners, and other stakeholders to maintain the financial health of the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, MBA, PMP, CIA, CFA, CA, CFE, or CISA may be required or preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance-related role.

Required kills & Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting processes, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

  • Strong analytical, time management, and communication skills.

  • Experience with budgeting, planning, forecasting, and financial reporting.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Excellent commercial and business awareness to act as a valuable business partner. 

  • Familiarity with tax reporting and accounting practices, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
