Job Description
Shangtex Garment Manufacturing PLC belongs to Orient Internal (Holding) Co. LTD, which is one of the largest textile and garment import & export groups in China. The company is listed 275th among China's top 500 companies in 2024. Ethiopia Factory is the first investment of Garment Manufacturing Base in Africa from the Group.The total investment of the Ethiopian factory exceeds 50 Million USD, which is one of the largest single investments in Ethiopia. There are 2 phases of the project, total 100,000 square meters. Phase I covers an area of 55,000 square meters, manufacturing area 60,000 square meters, 3 buildings. Phase I plans a sweater factory, with total capacity of 10 million pieces per year. Phase II has 45,000 square meters under planning, focus on Textile and value chain supporting to Phase I. Our factory is the largest scale for sweater manufacturing in the whole Africa.
We are looking for a Senior Social Compliance Officer to lead and manage compliance programs, ensure adherence to local and international labor standards, and support ethical and responsible business practices.
Oversee and implement social compliance programs
Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with local labor laws, buyer codes of conduct, and international standards (e.g., BSCI, WRAP, SEDEX)
Provide training and awareness programs for employees and management
Coordinate external audits and ensure corrective action plans are executed
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Law, Business Administration, or related field
Expereince: Minimum 2 years of experience in social compliance or CSR roles
Strong understanding of international compliance standards and audit protocols
Excellent communication and training skills
Proficient in report writing and documentation
