Job Description

Location: Around Jimma Haggaro Jemo Farm, Bench Sheko Zone, Ethiopia

Duties & Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Management:

  • Develop annual integrated crop and livestock production plans with budget projections, in consultation with department heads.

  • Oversee implementation of production cycles and ensure quality standards are met through regular farm inspections, record keeping, and reporting.

  • Manage procurement of inputs, supplies, equipment, and infrastructure upgrades required to achieve production targets.

  • Foster relationships with external consultants, researchers, and industry bodies to stay abreast of new technologies, varieties, and best practices.

Team Management:

  • Lead a diverse team of 50 staff across Production, Operations, Processing, Administration, and Security functions.

  • Conduct performance reviews and implement training programs to continuously develop team capabilities.

  • Facilitate effective communication across teams through regular meetings, documentation, and proactive issue resolution.

  • Prioritize and monitor occupational health and safety standards, while championing employee well-being initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in agriculture or related field

Experience:

  • Total 4 years of experience, with a minimum of 2 years in Corn farming and 2 years in Furrow irrigation.
