ATTA Trading PLC is looking to hire a Junior Electrical Engineer to join its head office team. We are seeking a motivated and ambitious graduate who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to our dynamic organization.

Position: Junior Electrical Office Engineer

Department: Engineering/Projects

Reports to: Senior Electrical Engineer

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Technical Support & Documentation

• Assist in preparing electrical design drawings, schematics, and layouts under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Help review electrical plans, technical specifications, and project documents.

• Support in preparing quantity take-offs, material lists, and technical submittals.

• Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, correspondence, and revisions.

2. Project Coordination

• Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure smooth coordination between design, procurement, and site execution teams.

• Assist in communicating technical requirements to suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams.

• Participate in project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on assigned action points.

3. Site Support (as required)

• Visit project sites to observe and report on electrical installation works.

• Assist in verifying that electrical works comply with drawings, safety standards, and quality requirements.

• Report site progress, issues, and discrepancies to senior engineers.

• Support in conducting inspections, testing, and commissioning activities under supervision.

4. Learning & Development

• Actively learn and apply company standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations (e.g., Ethiopian Electrical Standards, IEC standards).

• Shadow senior engineers to understand practical applications of electrical engineering principles.

• Participate in internal and external training programs organized by the company.

5. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.

• Assist in preparing and maintaining safety documentation for electrical systems.

• Report any safety hazards or violations immediately.

6. General Office Engineering Tasks

• Assist in preparing tender documents, cost estimates, and bid evaluations.

• Support procurement team in sourcing electrical materials and equipment.

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management review.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Expected Skills & Competencies

• Strong willingness to learn and grow under supervision.

• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

• Experience: Recent graduate (0–1 year of experience).

• Strong academic background with high potential to grow into the role.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new environments.

• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office is an added advantage.
