Job Description
The Network Administrator II is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and performance of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role involves monitoring network performance, configuring network hardware, ensuring network security, and providing troubleshooting support. The Network Administrator II ensures that the network operates efficiently, securely, and reliably, helping to minimize downtime and prevent issues that could disrupt business operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points to ensure optimal performance and security.
Monitor network performance and perform regular diagnostic tests to identify potential issues, ensuring proactive resolution of network problems.
Configure and deploy network devices, including setting up switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points in alignment with network design and architecture.
Ensure network security by implementing best practices such as configuring firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption protocols to protect data and systems from unauthorized access and threats.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, slow speeds, network outages, and other performance-related concerns, either remotely or in person.
Maintain and update network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and system changes for accurate record-keeping and troubleshooting.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in a related field of study
Experience: 4 Years experience in network infrastructure and security such as wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPN etc
