The Collective Action for Disability Rights (CADR) project, funded by NORAD through Atlas Alliance and directly financed by Youth Mental Health Norway, aligns policies with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Implemented by NCO, it enhances access to services for people with disabilities in Ethiopia through human rights and advocacy for persons with disabilities, inclusive education, OPDs organizational development, and health and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. The project supports Ethiopia’s 17.6% population with disabilities, 95% of whom live below the poverty line, fostering systemic inclusivity.
Position: Finance and Admin Officer
Reports To: Finance and Admin Manager
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Employment Type: One-year contract with possibility of extension
Salary: An attractive and competitive salary will be offered, based on qualifications and experience, in accordance with the organization’s salary scale.

The Finance and Admin Officer manages daily financial and administrative tasks for NCO, ensuring accurate transaction processing, record-keeping, and compliance with financial policies. The role supports the CADR project, collaborating mainly with the Finance and Admin Manager, Program Director, and Program Manager, and also with other staff. Roles may be redefined over time based on organizational needs.
Financial Transactions & Record Keeping: Encode daily transactions into Peachtree, prepare payment vouchers, manage petty cash, record cash/cheque deposits, and ensure accurate data entry and backups.
Payroll & Administration: Prepare monthly payroll sheets, update personnel databases, verify attendance/leave, calculate taxes, align payroll with HR records, and prepare various human resource letters (e.g., employment, termination, reference).
Procurement Support: Verify purchase requisitions/invoices, process payments, and maintain procurement records.
Documentation & Compliance: Ensure transactions are documented, maintain organized files, assist with policy compliance, and participate in the development of organizational manuals (e.g., financial, HR).
Other: Perform additional duties as assigned by the organization, including support for CADR project activities.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. ACCA certification is an advantage.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in an NGO setting, with expertise in Peachtree/Sage accounting (data entry, processing, reporting, budgeting).
Language Skills: Excellent command of English and Amharic.
Other Skills: Proficiency in Peachtree, QuickBooks, and MS Excel.
Other: Willingness to work with people with disabilities, adherence to NCO’s vision, mission, and values, and readiness for frequent travel to regional Ethiopia. Female candidates are encouraged.

Duties: Additional tasks may be assigned by the organization based on CADR project and operational needs.
