Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic professional to take on a dual role combining Human Resources and Office Administration responsibilities. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company’s goals and culture, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, legal compliance, and HR policy development.

In addition, the role includes managing the daily operations of the office by providing administrative and clerical support to staff and management, ensuring a smooth and efficient work environment.

Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and the employee handbook.

  • Ensure HR policies comply with labor laws, health and safety standards, and company regulations.

  • Maintain accurate employee records

  • Oversee payroll processes in collaboration with the finance department.

  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.

  • Implement onboarding and orientation programs for new hires.

  • Address employee grievances and conflict resolution in a fair, consistent manner.

  • Implement and manage performance appraisal systems.

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes: job postings, screening, interviews, and onboarding.

  • Ensure roles are filled with qualified, culturally aligned candidates.

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Plan and manage workforce needs in coordination with department heads.

  • Coordinate and Oversee facility maintenance

  • Manage day-to-day office operations and administrative tasks

  • Assign drivers to specific tasks based on urgency and availability

  • Prepare meeting minutes

  • Provide administrative support to management and other team members

  • Oversee management of office for supplies and furniture, ensuring proper use of stationary and cleanness

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field 

  • Solid understanding of Ethiopian labor laws and HR compliance requirements.

  • Expereince: 1 - 2 years or more of experience in a human resources role 

  • Experience working in a technical, healthcare, or import/export company is an advantage

  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong people management and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Hands on experience with office equipment (eg copiers, printers)

  • Able to type office letters, outgoing letters, meeting minutes, and other documents in both Amharic and English

  • Collaborates well with all levels of staff and management.

  • Negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication in Amharic and English
