We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Import and Export Officer to manage and coordinate all international and local logistics related to the import and export of medical equipment and healthcare products. The role involves ensuring full compliance with customs and healthcare regulations, preparing and reviewing logistics documentation, communicating with suppliers and freight forwarders, and overseeing timely and efficient delivery processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage the full cycle of import and export processes including customs clearance, freight forwarding, and delivery.

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of shipping documentation (invoices, packing lists, bill of lading, COO, etc.).

• Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth clearance of goods.

• Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to the warehouse or client site.

• Ensure compliance with international trade laws, Ministry of Health (MoH), EFDA (Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority), and customs regulations.

• Obtain necessary import permits, registration certificates, and pre-import approvals for medical devices.

• Maintain updated records of all relevant licenses, permits, and certifications.

• Communicate with international suppliers to manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and shipment arrangements.

• Coordinate internally with procurement, warehouse, finance, and technical teams to align on incoming and outgoing shipments.

• Address delays, shipping discrepancies, or damages promptly with suppliers and logistics partners.

• Maintain a detailed log of all shipments and inventory movement.

• Archive all import/export documents for auditing and compliance purposes.

• Prepare monthly reports on import/export activity, lead times, and associated costs.

• Negotiate with shipping companies and clearing agents for favorable rates.

• Recommend improvements to logistics operations to reduce cost and improve efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in import/export operations, preferably in medical equipment or pharmaceutical sectors.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, import/export laws, and EFDA regulations..
