Job Description

Minaye PLC is a leading company in furniture manufacturing, sanitary materials supply, and construction finishing materials distribution. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and innovative solutions to our clients. As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Accountant with a background in Accounting and Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining financial organization, managing cash flow, and supporting the company’s financial health.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares cheques, payment vouchers and other financial instruments if authorized jointly with other officials delegated for the task.

  • Carries out the day to day financial activities of the company in an efficient manner.

  • Helps the accountant to improve and apply up-to-date financial accounting and systems with the aim of improving efficiency.

  • Synthesizes financial data and provide to the concerned unit for decision.

  • Handles postings to the general ledger and sub-ledgers timely and properly.

  • Classifies properly financial and supporting documents, files and certificates of important nature and keeps in a safe custody for future needs and Posting Cash Deposit

  • Collect and properly document advanced payed payments 

  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

  • Prepare cash or credit sales for customers.

  • Hold petty cash and other funds and make a small payments & replenish it.

  • Prepare a bin card for all transactions.

  • Declare and follow up VAT, withholding tax, pension & income tax.

  • Participating monthly physical count and yearly as per schedule by the company.

  • Prepares cheques, payment vouchers and other financial instruments if authorized jointly with other officials delegated for the task & journalizing each payment.

  • Collect and properly document advanced payed payments.

  • Prepares cheques, payment vouchers and other financial instruments if authorized jointly with other officials delegated for the task.

  • Internal: Work closely with other accountants and Senior accountants. Ensures information is communicated to all the appropriate staffs.

  • External: Work closely with Suppliers, Customers, Banks, Minster of Revenue, External & internal auditor and any third-party. 

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or in a related field of study

  • Experience: 0 years of working experience
