System administrators are responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer and network systems, servers, workstations and peripheral devices. They may acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software; automate routine tasks; write computer programs; troubleshoot; train and supervise staff; and provide technical support. They ensure optimum system integrity, security, backup and performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization platforms like Microsoft Hyper-V/Virtual and VMWare Servers.

• Install, configure, and monitor system hardware, software, and networks to ensure optimal performance and security.

• Manage and troubleshoot issues related to servers, operating systems, networks, and applications, promptly resolving them to minimize downtime.

• Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.

• Perform system backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and issues.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and implement new technologies, tools, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability.

• Provide technical support and guidance to junior system administrators and help desk personnel, assisting them in resolving complex issues.

• Develop and maintain operational, procedural and informational documentation for enterprise information systems, implemented security measures, disaster recovery procedures and ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and security standards, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and security.

• Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom and software vendor evaluation, recommendation and negotiations.

• Manages active directory and group policy management.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and other related courses.

• Six year working experience as a Senior System Administrator

• Working knowledge of server and application virtualizations, Windows and Linux security; backups, restores, and troubleshooting Enterprise systems issues;

Required Skills:

• Good understanding of networks.

• Deep understanding of system security.

• Team management skills and good communication skills.

• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Microsoft Certification (MCSE), CCNA, A+ certification is desired.  

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
