ATTA Trading is seeking a Senior Accountant (female) to manage its overall finance and accounting operations. The role requires strong technical accounting skills, solid experience in tax reporting (especially government tax), payroll and pension tax, bank reconciliation, and payment handling. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a private-sector accounting role (excluding banking), preferably with exposure to construction-site accounting. Proficiency in Peachtree accounting software is mandatory. A BA in Accounting or Finance is required. A fast learner who can adapt to new processes and systems is highly valued in this role.
The Senior Accountant at ATTA Trading PLC will lead and manage key financial activities, ensuring accurate and timely accounting operations across the organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. The Senior Accountant will oversee bank reconciliations, payroll and pension tax reporting, withholding, and payment processing. The position also involves managing tax compliance and reporting obligations with government authorities. A crucial part of the role is using Peachtree accounting software to perform all accounting functions and support process improvements. The Senior Accountant will also provide financial analysis to inform business decisions, assist with audits, and mentor junior accounting staff. Given ATTA Trading’s operations, experience with construction-site accounting will be highly valued, and the candidate must demonstrate high integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

General Ledger & Financial Transactions
Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions (journal entries) are recorded accurately and timely.
Post and review month-end and year-end journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
Prepare and maintain detailed account reconciliations (e.g., balance sheet accounts, subledgers).
Bank Reconciliation
Reconcile bank statements regularly (monthly or more frequent as needed).
Identify and investigate discrepancies between bank accounts and book balances, proposing corrections.
Maintain a systematic process for clearing outstanding items.
Payroll & Pension / Payroll Tax
Calculate, post, and reconcile payroll entries.
Prepare payroll tax withholding and reporting (income tax, social security, pension contributions, etc.).
Ensure compliance with relevant government regulations pertaining to payroll and pension tax.
Coordinate with external auditors (if any) for payroll-related audits or tax inspections.
Withholding & Payment Handling
Handle payment processing (payables), including calculating withholding taxes on payments and ensuring correct deductions.
Ensure that withholding for contractor payments, vendors, or other payees is correctly applied and reported.
Process payments to suppliers, employees, and other stakeholders, ensuring documentation and approval.
Tax Reporting & Compliance
Prepare and file government tax reports (corporate tax, withholding tax, payroll tax, possibly VAT if relevant) as required by local tax law.
Maintain up-to-date working papers and supporting schedules for tax submissions.
Liaise with tax authorities or external tax advisors to resolve tax issues, audits, or assessments.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
Perform variance analysis (budget vs. actual) and forecast future trends.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to management, identifying cost-saving opportunities or process improvements.
Internal Controls & Policy Development
Develop, document, and enforce accounting policies, processes, and internal controls.
Regularly review accounting procedures and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Audit Support
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
Serve as a point of contact for auditors, answering questions and clarifying financial data.
Team Management & Mentoring
Supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting assistants (if applicable).
Review their work (journal entries, reconciliations) to ensure accuracy.
Delegate tasks effectively and manage workload to meet deadlines.
Software & Systems
Use Peachtree accounting software to perform all accounting tasks (entries, reporting, reconciliation). Given job requirement, deep working knowledge is required.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes using the software (automation, more efficient workflows).
Train other team members (as needed) on Peachtree usage or related financial systems.
Construction Project / Site Accounting (Preferred)
If exposed to construction accounting: track project costs, monitor site expenses, allocate overheads, deal with subcontractor payments, and manage retention.
Prepare cost reports for construction projects, ensuring accuracy in how site expenses feed into the general ledger.
Coordinate with site managers to ensure timely and accurate financial information from construction sites.
Cash Flow & Treasury
Monitor cash balances and forecast cash flow based on expected payables and receivables.
Work with management to ensure there is sufficient liquidity for operations, payroll, and project-related payments.
Compliance & Reporting to Management
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, local tax laws, and internal policies.
Present monthly/quarterly financial reports, tax status, and cash position to senior management.
Provide recommendations to management based on financial trends or risk areas.
Job Requirement:
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s (BA) degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field — required.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of work experience in a private-sector accounting role (excluding banking).
Experience in government tax reporting, payroll taxation, withholding, pension contributions, etc.
Preferably experience in construction / construction-site accounting or working with construction companies.
Strong hands-on experience using Peachtree accounting software — detailed knowledge of modules, reporting, and data management.
Technical Skills:
Excellent accounting and financial reporting skills.
Solid understanding of tax laws relevant to your country (or local jurisdiction) for corporate tax, payroll tax, withholding, etc.
Strong reconciliation skills (bank, balance sheet) and journal entry preparation.
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, data analysis) are highly desirable.
Familiarity with internal control frameworks and accounting policy development.
